The Real P3 podcast series is an initiative where pork professionals from all over the world share their ideas, insights and solutions to meet their daily challenges in the pig industry and production industry.

August Offenberg was born and raised on a pig farm. He studied agriculture and spent most of his career working in the feed industry. Since 2011, he has been the co-owner of the piglet and small animal feed business. However, in recent years, he has also been busy with "Revolutionary Pig Farm" Zon Varken ('Sun Pig').

Over the past year, Offenberg has worked with a small team active in the pig industry, and together they have collected newspaper items related to the pig industry. Obviously, most of the information in the media is negative.

In order to change this stigma, the team successfully created a unique pig production system that solved the animal welfare, environmental and human food waste issues on their pilot farms.

There are 50 sows on the farm, and pigs are born from birth to slaughter. Offenberg talked about how they achieved the highest welfare level and lowest ammonia without using soybeans and paying close attention to salt, as well as an impressive reduction of 60-65% of the carbon footprint of pig feed.
