QT Dog is celebrating its 25th year in the pet supply business. We have been an industry pioneer and have introduced product lines that have been so outside of the box that retailers flock to us looking for something new. Here is a list of some of our firsts.

We were the first company to introduce Deer and Elk Antler dog chews. Antler is hands down the longest-lasting, all-natural, single-ingredient chew on the market, period. Nowadays you can’t find a pet retailer that does not carry one form of antler or another.

Invented by Mike Kitchen in 2006, The Brake-Fast bowl was the pioneer slowfeed dog feeding bowl. QT Dog acquired the patent for the bowl in 2012 and engineered a stainless steel version that is still a top seller 10 years later. While we were first out of the gate, the industry soon introduced a myriad of slow bowls, almost all in plastic. The stainless Brake-Fast bowl is still the standard in the category.

For years the industry has been looking for a viable and affordable alternative to traditional cow rawhide chews. QT Dog is a pioneer, introducing water buffalo cheek rolls, strips, and now our new family of Colgn collagen items. Water buffalo, unlike traditional cowhide, does not absorb water and get soft allowing dogs to ingest large pieces at a time. It stays hard and has to be worn down. QT Dog is the largest importer of water buffalo pet chews in the USA.

QT is the pioneer in importing Cashmere Goat Horn dog chews from Mongolia to the USA market. These horns are much stouter than the sheep or lamb horns on the market. Dogs are naturally attracted to these horns, which feature a flavorful core. Available in three sizes, these goat horns are an excellent, natural, long-lasting chew for all size dogs.

In 2007, QT noticed a few small online boutique retailers selling Yak Cheese chews. Sensing an opportunity, QT introduced the Churpi Chew to the industry and pioneered the nationwide availability of Yak cheese in a distributor-friendly format. Yak cheese from Nepal is now an industry staple and has pumped millions of dollars into the Nepalese economy. We were there at the start.
