As the final edge gets closer, The Great British Bake Off becomes more and more tense.

As the remaining bakers participated in the quarter-finals, the popular show returned to Channel 4 on Tuesday night.

Lizzie, Jurgen, Guiseppe, Crystalle and Chigs all returned to the famous tent to meet another set of challenges set by the judges.

This week’s theme is "Free From", and the task of the contestants is to make dairy-free ice cream sandwiches, meat-free sausage rolls and gluten-free food.

The remaining five bakers have performed well under recent pressure, but unfortunately Lizzie was eliminated recently.

However, when the bakers started to process their mushroom and nut sausage rolls, Bake Off viewers were frightened earlier in the episode.

That's because Jurgen made a major mistake when inspecting the pastries.

When he did this, he lost his grip on the tray and the sausage roll fell to the floor. Jurgen said sadly, "Oh, no."

But Jurgen didn't let this stop him, he picked them up, put them back on the tray, and put them back into the oven.

The audience was surprised to find that he offered the bakery favorite that fell to the ground for the judges to vote.

"I think Jurgen's failure to confess to the food on the floor is abnormal. The judges should be told," a netizen wrote on Twitter.

Another said: "So we should ignore the fact that on #bakeoff #GBBO #GreatBritishBakeOff, Jurgen provided Paul and Prue with floor food."

"JURGEN JURGEN! Floor cross contamination! #GBBO #sausageroll #freefrom," the third person was terrified.

The fourth angry: "I can't believe Jurgen served food on the floor! Take him home! #GBBO #Floorgate."
