Ceva hires Iowa State University students for Swine Veterinary Internship Program

Three students will participate in this 12-week program to learn and develop swine-specific skills

Ceva Animal Health announced this week that it hired 3 interns from Iowa State University (ISU) to participate in its Swine Veterinary Internship Program (SVIP). The 3 selected students will have the chance to learn and develop their technical swine-specific skills while learning how to conduct field research, share their findings, and focus on developing a professional experience.

"We are thrilled to welcome these talented students to our Swine Veterinary Internship Program,” said Dr. Edgar Diaz, Swine Technical Services Manager for Ceva, in an organizational release,1 “Each student was chosen based on their valuable education and experience. We believe they will provide us with new insights into swine health care. We hope this internship will continue to aid in the molding of our future veterinarians.”

According to the release,1 the 3 interns will train in swine bleeding and necropsy techniques, diagnostic sampling, technical writing, and veterinary product development. The program will provide the student's hands-on experience within swine production medicine and networking opportunities. The interns will also have the chance to travel through the Midwest, meeting and interacting with various veterinarians, swine producers, and students from different universities.

After the internship, each student will give presentations at the American Association of Swine Veterinarians conference in March 2023.
